if ppl would just go back to the sixties, fifties and eighties of country music they would find a gold mine of classic country…Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Jerry Jeff Walker, Waylon Jennings, Roy Orbison, George Jones, Reba McEntire, loads more…I used to hate country music until I was forced to listen to it in the oil field a lot…I turned around…so can you…give old country a chance…it’s so good.
It’s pretty simplistic and formulaic and I do like some but as a genre it’s nothing like punk which is basically the same thing as an explanation.
I think it totally depends on what you listened too. What your intellectual development was like and how that all melds in.
Lets just say that music is good for the soul. Just not country ![]()
i wasn’t saying just country…I love all music mostly…including punk and I wasn’t being condescending to other genres of music…music is just important to me and because of the current country music which I think is shite. I want ppl to discover that not all country music is bad.
I agree. This is good. Uses old blue grass roots but makes something new which isn’t about your truck/mud/girl/boy…etc!
My wife plays country when she wants to annoy me.
Totally disagree.
Old country,
New country,
It’s all trash in my book.
I’d rather listen to silence than any country music.
There are about a hundred obnoxious noises I would prefer to one country song.
I get old southern blues music.
Don’t love it, but living in rural Georgia, gained some appreciation for it.
Country music is just awful.
If I can think of a single exception through the day,
I’ll post it.
I’m very eclectic in my tastes in music. One of my favorites in country music is Willie Nelson’s, “There is Nothing I can do about it Now.” I also like some of Chris Stapleton’s music.
