Do Any of you experience depression caused by olanzapine? And how can you help it?
I take 2,5 mg olanzapine (earlier 5 mg, but that was too much). Its been better, but I still feel depressed some how. I’m tired, lack of energy, lack of passion. I just feel bored. My therapist and psychiatrist find that I’m not suffering from depression, but that I might miss the time when I was psychotic. Because I felt so very much Alive during that time. What shall I do? My psychiatrist wont let me quit meds until I’m more stable and I don’t want to act on My own hand.
I’m on 15mg of olanzapine and 40mg of Prozac, so I don’t really have any depression to speak of, could be counteracting?
Add an anti depressant (a good one, with anti anxiety attributes like Effexor)
I was on 40mg of olanzapine and 75mg of effexor for about 15 years. I had no energy and slept all the time. I didn’t find effexor that helpful with depression. My depression eventually faded on its own, so i quit the effexor, but the withdrawals from effexor were hell, very intense so called “brain zaps” that lasted for about 3 months.
@Headspark effexor did nothing for me I think I was on like 375mg at one point
Wow, the pdoc that put me on it mentioned 150mg but decided to start me at 75mg, I never realized it could go so high.
Yeahhhh it was a bad time. I was also on 600mg of quetiapine so I was hungry and tired all the time. On top of depression and negative symptoms
