Oh happy day!

I just got my SSI early for next month and I got an extra $31 for the pay increase for next month! I thought I was only going to get a few extra dollars a month but I got much more! This will really help me with buying enough food next year. I can’t get the full SSI amount because I live with my dad and stepmom and don’t pay rent so I’m really happy about the $31 a month increase!

I’m supposed to be getting a $90 increase. I get my check on the 3rd. I’m on disability, SSDI.

Yes, but I live on my own and have the Medicare deductible and copays to come up with. I don’t get Medicaid.

I get Medicaid and they pay for my meds otherwise I’d be screwed

That’s all I get is Medicare and SSDI. No food stamps or HUD housing assistance now, though I used to have HUD. I moved out of that building though. It wasn’t a very nice place to live.

I qualified for Retired Teachers Housing because I used to be a substitute teacher with my Associates Degree.

Doesn’t it suck that with SSDI we make less than today’s minimum wage and still don’t qualify for Medicaid, I don’t even qualify for food assistance because DHHS says I make to much money. Thank God I have the VA.

An Associate’s degree opens a few doors for you, but not like a Bachelor’s.

I’m glad you have VA. I’m sure it helps. I just made a donation to Paralyzed Veterans of America. I don’t know if they do much though.
