Do you also get offended by them? I think they’re archaic ways to refer to schizophrenia. We have terms like schizophrenia and schizoaffective yet they choose to use these terms…
I find crazy, weird and strange part of normal people’s language to gauge emotions that they can be similar to others, time to become more resilient I think. Maybe become more acquainted to it… that’s just my 2 cents though!
No, but I’m a complete nutter.
I’m too crazy and insane to care.
To answer your question, no not generally. But I guess under the right circumstances I might be.
Bunch of wise ass’s! Lol
Better to be a smartass than a dumbass.
Fair call, let me dwell on that for the next few years!
To be totally honest this is what pisses me off stuff like this. Politicians calling other politicians schizophrenic and throwing the word around as an insult.
Senator Marshall Sounds Off On Biden’s Schizophrenic Foreign Policy
I prefer the term nutter
I’ve been called insane before and I took offense.
I prefer insane or nuts or crazy over schizophrenic. Sz is like a lifelong permanant brain disease or whatever they reckon. Whereas crazy or nuts is so broad. Could just be general jolly banter when crazy is used.
But i get where your coming from too.
Sorry if everyone making a joke out of what you said could be frustrating or make you feel bad. This illness can suck no matter what.

Am I offended by the term “insane?”
1.a. Am I offended by the general use of the term “insane?” No. I think it is a common law term in the US, and I think that I benefit from the common law here.
1.b. Would I be offended if someone on the street called me “insane?” Probably. It’s a legal term. I’ve never been adjudicated “insane,” or committed to a mental institution, and I don’t think that a person on the street generally has a right to designate me as “insane,” in this jurisdiction. -
Am I offended by the term “crazy?” Generally, no, I think. One google definition says “extremely enthusiastic.” In some circumstances, that may not even be an insult.
I prefer “differently saned”.
“It’s a figure of speech” lol.
“like crazy, man you dig?” doesn’t bother me…someone being called crazy can mean a lot of things without being insulting to me…I don’t like being called a nut.
I find these terms outdated and offensive.
But normal people don’t know how I feel so it doesn’t matter.
I won’t police or correct anyone.
I just don’t use these terms because words matter to me. Insane crazy mad nuts have been used on me when I’m not at my best and I don’t like it.
Edit:
Actually there have been people who have used it to intentionally hurt me, knowing my condition.
One word gets to me. One time i was unwell and someone really close and important to me said “your a fu####g psycho” right to my face very angrily and spitefully. It hit hard at the time. I was a teenager. So i don’t really like that one much.
I used to, but not anymore.
I don’t get offended or anything by those words. I call myself insane or crazy all the time.
