OCD cure without meds?

All antidepressants gives me anxiety attack(crying) unless i take high dose benzo along with it. But high dose benzo causes severe sleepiness through out the day. Right now im taking 10mg clobazam(benzo), if i increase it to 20mg then i will be able to take other SSRIs and might cure my ocd but at the cost of sleeping all day. Other benzos didnt help me.

Are there any other ocd solutions for me ? What about supplements ?

Biofeedback cured my OCD. I did it for 12 years straight, and now I don’t do it anymore. I stopped having OCD as a diagnosis after five years, because I had zero symptoms for so long. The downside is that it’s expensive, and insurance doesn’t cover it.

So if i start biofeedback today, it will cure me after 5 years ? After 12 years, you dont have ocd ? When did it started exactly and is relapse common in biofeedback ?

I don’t know if it will work for you. It worked for me, though. I have had OCD since I was 4 years old and started biofeedback when I was 17 after a series of hospitalizations.

I still have some weird tics and compulsive behaviors, but they no longer get in the way of my life or cause me any stress. They’re just weird quirks, like everyone has.

Damn since you were 4 years old. I had obsessive doubts since years but since last year it has become severe and intense and i need to do something about it.

I believe @anon22322466 has just bought a Neurofeedback machine that works similarly to my medical-grade machine. He can tell you if his is any good.

thanks

Guys are there any OTC supplements for ocd which is effective without side effects ?

DMG - Improves mood, reduces anxiety, depression, increases energy throughout the day, take it early morning.
NAC - Reduces urge to obsess or do compulsions.

Phosphatidylserine sunflower version for deep restful night sleep as lack of quality sleep at night is one of the major reason for mental problems including OCD, anxiety etc. Make sure getting at least 8 hrs sleep at night every day and avoid day time naps. Take phosphatidylserine after 3 PM.

These three are the safest supplements to try for OCD. Out of these the must to try one is DMG.

This was an EEG biofeedback for OCD study. They found that it was more effective than meds and psychotherapy alone - but it was done in conjunction with meds and psychotherapy.

I’ve done my own sort of ‘exposure therapy.’ That is, doing or being around the thing that triggers the compulsion and then not acting on it, even though it is very psychologically distressing. It took a long time (years) but the compulsions are basically gone and I am just left with the obsessive part.

I’d like to try this.

Milk thistle has helped some. ERP therapy is used by many.

I found this on biofeedback - it’s not on OCD though but schizophrenia.

You’re amazing for being able to tolerate exposure therapy. I felt like I was being tortured. Granted, my parents did it to me at age 7, so maybe as an adult it would have been easier. It never helped me.

What can I say, I’m good at torturing myself. At a certain point it was like “yes, this is terrible, but so is everything.” which is not the mark of a very functional life. Also I did choose it which is very different than being forced.
