Novels about mental illness

…does anyone think Jane Eyre is a discriminatory novel? (negative stereotype)…

whats the cliff notes?

It was pre 20C so lots of things in society weren’t too kind. Different times for sure.

…would you recommend it for a Literature in English curriculum?..

Never read it. I’ve heard of it but my interest in lit was probably 20C stuff that I read and enjoyed. Someone else may like it. It’s a broad community and I think there’s movie adaptions out there…

The best non fiction story about schizophrenia in my opinion is a book called Recovered, not cured by Richard McLean.

…I’ll be sure to read it…have you read ‘The Shoemaker’?..i read that before i got diagnosed and i have to say, it’s pretty creepy…

No I haven’t heard of that one. Might give it a go.

The Prince of Tides has severe sz.
