Honestly, my not wanting kids has nothing to do with my diagnosis. I volunteer with kids and am an uncle, and thats enough for me. Kids are a ton of work and money. I dont like lots of work and I dont have a ton of money.
I was dating for about 8 months on tinder. You meet all types on there. There are plenty of women nowadays who dont want kids.
My ex of 25 years never wanted kids-hated the idea of having to spend less money on him because of them turned him off.
Yeah.
He used my illness-only in the last 15 years of our marriage as an excuse to not have them, even though I decided I would not be a single parent in a two parent household.
Now he says not having kids is his only regret in life!
When the Dr asked (before hen married to the ex) what I used for birth control, I told her “his personality!”
@anon80629714, it’s good you state this up front is you really don’t want kids, and I know that lack of kids when I divorced was considered a plus.
I think there is lots of men that don’t want kids, like any partner it takes some searching and time. You are trying that’s what is important. I never made any effort after 30 and regret that now.
With all the challenges you face, I look up to you for making such a honest effort.

Why not go for a man in his late thirties, beginning fourties who already has children with another ex wife…he probably feels like he has enough children and responsibility and now just wants a wife he can enjoy life with…many men already have a marriage that failed and are pretty much cured from the ideal of marriage with children…there is plenty of those around
It’s not that I don’t want them but feel it’s not in my best interests or the kids best interest to have them.
The skills in therapy are transferable one they make you a better parent. Can also always adopt or foster or what ever. Someone for everybody ISH.
