No spend until January 2026

I’m planning on going from today until January 2026 spending as little as possible, if I need food? fine I’ll get food, need pants because I’ve lost weight? That’s what a belt is for, have a hole in my favorite shirt? Mend or throw away. Want to go out to eat? Nope eat at home (planning to meal prep a lot) want to go out to the movies? Watch what I’ve already got, or use the streaming service we’re already paying for.

Yesterday we went out to eat and shopping for my birthday (it’s on the 8th) well after we got home I realized how much I truly spend and I realized how much it’s effecting our lives so after talking with my husband we decided we’re going to buy very little.

I know how to crochet so if I absolutely need clothes I will try and make my own… And I mean try lol… I have lots of yarn, I have adult coloring books, I have cross stitch, I have paint by numbers, I have embroidery, I have a Nintendo switch (with games including one I got on discount yesterday) I have a bike that works, my apartment complex has a pool that’s open every summer (if my swim suits get to big I can sew them to be smaller if they get to small I’ll deconstruct them and crochet me new)

All in all I’m going to try and keep from getting anything new… If I end up needing a new phone I will probably get a flip phone and get on here on my husband’s computer… I remember don’t want to spend money unnecessarily or get the cheapest option

Sounds like a good plan. I’m also going to try and be really frugal this month. I got a new shirt yesterday but I bought it at a thrift shop and with my veteran discount it was only around 4$. Cheers to us, @Twialine . :+1:

Good price! I’ve got a few things coming in the mail still but after that I’m done… I got a brand new game from Walmart for $10 yesterday I’ve wanted it for a while now but always didn’t want to spend the money

US army? If you don’t want to say that’s fine

Sweet score on that game! 10 bucks is a steal.

Oh I don’t mind  I was in the Air Force for 4 years.

@Montezuma OMG I got the cutest top yesterday! I couldn’t believe how confident I felt in it! It shows part of my belly (it’s a stretchy crochet top with ribbon :ribbon:) and honestly I’ve always been self conscious about my belly so I’m surprised how much I absolutely loved it!

Sounds like a good plan. I’d change one thing though: if you lose weight, go to a resale shop for 1 pair of cheap pants and like 2 cheap shirts. You’ll be glad you did and you’ll be much more comfortable.

I spend as little as i have to every month cuz I’m trying to save for a new car. I never eat out and eat breakfast and lunch on weekdays at my clubhouse. I go to the movies like once a year with a friend of mine. I’ve been putting about $500 each month into my car fund…that’s money that wouldn’t be there if i wasn’t so frugal. I’m all for buying clothes at thrift stores, too, and facebook marketplace. But sometimes my family tells me that i need to do more fun things…maybe, but AFTER i get a new car.

Sounds like you have a good plan for living a frugal life. I curb my spending, too. I rarely buy new clothes now because my wardrobe is already full and It doesn’t bother me whether my clothes are trendy or not. I also don’t buy expensive cosmetics. Just use basic skin care. I cook for my family everyday which I think is a helathy way of eating because when I cook I use less salt, sugar and oil. Saving money is necessay as you might need it in the future when you get older and older.

Up to a point… I find that thrift stores are good for “transitional clothing” while your weight drops.I went from a 48 waist to a 36 waist. I look like I’m wearing a tent if I put on my old pants.
