Try combination therapy. Multiple medications at once. Ask you doctor about it.

Have you tried the older typicals like Haldol?

I, too, have been on everything but nothing ever took the voices away. I’ve just had to learn how to “hear” them without “listening” to them. Sometimes talking back to them will get them to quiet a bit but I don’t recommend you do it in public! When I get sick my voices change from just commentary to command. But try the combo therapy, too, it sometimes works. You may just have refractory schizophrenia and keep trying things as they become available.

I had to take higher doses in order for the voices to go away. I know some people don’t respond to the meds though. I’m sorry you’re struggling. voices suck. I noticed that they diminished the voices a little bit at a low dose, and then as the doses increased, the voices got quieter and quieter and less frequently until they disappear.

ECT was the only thing that worked for me. I’ve also heard good things about Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Good luck :sunny:️

I still hear voices. Meds made them nicer, but they are still present. I’m on Abilify and Quetiapine. I am learning to live with voices. Only one med made them go away, Fluanxol, but my quality of life was completely gone. I was like a robot without any brain activity.

Latuda has been great for me.

Risperdal Clozaril and Zyprexa are the three atypical antipsychotics with the highest efficacy period. Clozaril has the highest efficacy of any antipsychotic typical or atypical. If that didn’t work for you it’s time for drastic measures.

The typical antipsychotics are naturally your next options. I don’t know many of them but I think Haldol is More commonly used among them. And hey, some people feel this medication worked the best for them. So talk to your psychiatrist about trying older antipsychotics, not just the newer ones even though they have proven more effective than the older ones.

As a plus, the older drugs are really cheap.

saphris works great for hallucinations. I think the pdoc said it works for people who didn’t get relief from any other meds. She said it was a niche medicine. It’s horrible to take though.

I don’t have voice sorry, and I don’t have schizophrenia but a NAS psychosis
