No longer on Metformin

Today was my last day on Metformin
I had to come off it because I’m no longer seeing my family doctor who was prescribing it.
Besides I’m now on the powerhouse diabetes drug, Mounjaro

Mounjaro is doing a good job of controlling my blood sugar levels on its own.

I’ve been testing my levels everyday and all is good.

I don’t need to be on two diabetes drugs anyway.

My diabetes isn’t that severe

Are you still on a low dose of risperdone?

I’m at 3 mg of risperidone, which is pretty low

Why’s that ? Surely you need a family doctor in case of other problems?

I am currently seeing a physicians assistant at my local Urgent Care plus my Bariatric, weight specialist who is an MD and Internist is now my primary doctor

My previous family doctor did nothing for me over the years
He was an incompetent fool.
He did more harm than good

I’ve been on metformin plus Mounjaro for about a year now. My hemoglobing A1c is in the normal range but i still get really high sugars if i eat certain foods…but so far they come down naturally after 15-45 minutes. I like my primary care doctor cuz he’s the one who helped me lose the weight, starting with Saxenda then Mounjaro. Before the diabetes diagnosis my insurance wouldn’t cover these meds, so my doc gave me samples to use. He’s also very flexible and easy to contact.
