so this is my fav thing right now… me and my 4 year old do the dance… it’s pretty awesome. check it out and leave your favorite songs if you want.
I HAVE MISSED YOU and please tell me you’ve seen these guys, have been wanting to inflict them on you for months now:
Hey @flameoftherhine. How’ve you been? Here’s a lil something for you and Flamelet to dance to.
Flame! How the heck have you been?
I just discovered this musician, I really dig his sound. Kinda reminds me of Otis Redding.
My son just introduced me to this band. I’m a softy for acoustic guitar.
oh my rhubot… you just turned my music library into nothing but garbage… I’m so disapointed that they only have 2 tracks… so i can totally emulate that style of singing… I must have some of the great khan in me…
I KNOW, RIGHT??? The first thing I thought when I heard them was that you needed them.
They supposedly have an album coming out, though I think it was supposed to be out by now. Look up throat singing. You’ll find plenty of (much more traditional) examples to learn from.
-wow… are you on now? I’ll send a message.
There’s also Inuk / Inuit throat singing. Check out Tanya Tagaq.
It sounds like he is singing “we will rub you” in the chorus.
I LOVE the dead south. They’re amazing.
My favorite form of throat singing is Tibetan monks throat singing. It’s really breathtaking. I can’t post an example because that would violate the forum guidelines regarding religion.
One of my favorites is their cover of House of the Rising Sun. I’ve posted it before.
.
It is a really good cover. Have you heard of Colter Wall? Hes another one that is pretty amazing. His voice is like gravel, in a good way.
I Googled Colter Wall. He is really good. Love his voice.
Listen to the brewery sessions version of Kate Mccannon. The other version is weird.
Yeah, I was going to post one of the videos from the brewery sessions, but it showed a wall of cans of brew behind him which I thought might be an issue on the forum.
