I got a new therapist today that takes Medicare. Today was the first appointment so I was basically just telling my story but he was talking to me about whores, porn and dropped the f bomb.
Not sure how this is going to go. We will see.

Wow, hopefully things will work out.
If not, there are plenty of other therapists out there.
It’s difficult finding a good therapist through Medicare.
But it’s not impossible.
I have Medicare and found a decent therapist.

Yeah. I told him my wife gets mad and throws things sometimes and he asked me if I was sleeping with whores.
Then I was telling him I was paranoid and thought the government gave me schizophrenia and he said the government was incompetent and then he told me he had a patient who was paranoid about the FBI monitoring his porn addiction on the internet. He said we would all be guilty if that were the case. Everybody watches porn. I don’t watch porn.
I don’t remember what he dropped the f bomb about. I just thought it was unprofessional
I see him again next Friday. I will see how that goes.

I don’t do therapy.
I’m schizophrenic and I approach the fact that medications make more of a difference than talking shite with a person who isn’t a psydoc. A good psydoc reads your moods and mental state with some simple conversation…I always talk cricket with mine. He knows my moods and states and we go from there.
What works for you. If you feel you need it then that isn’t a bad thing. I still pour water on it though. How can you be talked out of a mental disorder? Just doesn’t make sense. Sure you can teach people practical thinking and decent cbt is a good idea for disorganised folk but most schizophrenics I’ve known have been plenty smart enough to figure out most stuff…
Remember Freud. Never helped one schizophrenic! I do well and it certainly isn’t with any therapy and I’ve seen the damage that stupid therapy can do…yeah there’s good ones for sure but there’s a lot of hacks out there.

I’ve seen pdocs that don’t do therapy and those that do, and I would highly recommend one that does both. In my case it practically meant that I get to talk for an hour about my symptoms instead of 15 min and I find that very helpful. Often times it helps to be able to get an objective opinion on your thoughts in addition to another script refill.

I’ve had both!
Here in Australia I get 15 minutes tops. We talk cricket mostly. Mind you my meds are cool and i’m in a good place and have been for years.
In America with good insurance I talked to my shrink for an hour every time. It was a bit overkill and unnecessary. I’ve seen both systems and they are both under stress.
Saying that. My shrink in Australia is top shelf! And it helps if your proactive. I take some ownership of my own symptoms and work hard at being as best as I can be!
It is what it is and and hour is way too much…go get yourselves some poor clients who can’t afford healthcare!

When I was in the military I just talked to my shrinks didn’t have a therapist. Saw them for about an hour every week.
Now my shrink just writes my scripts. I don’t think I can be talked out of it but I am at the maximum therapeutic dose of the meds.
Going to see if this helps any. If it doesn’t I will just stop going. I already stopped seeing my psychologist at the VA. He wasn’t any help at all.
Well this new guy is still a quack. I am going to give up on Medicare and go back to the VA.
My old psychiatrist and psychologist are still at the VA. I called and checked. Have an appointment with the psychiatrist on Wednesday. Can’t get in to see the psychologist until August but he was better than this guy.
I learned that the VA now prescribes Latuda and Lunesta so I can get all of my meds from them. So I won’t have to see two shrinks like I did before and I won’t have any copays.
