The pizza hut near where I live has a sign outside that they are looking for delivery drivers. They would make over $25 and hour. Plus tips I think. Not a bad deal.

25 an hour??? That’s insane. I still haven’t got my paycheck yet but I get 7.50 an hour and I’ve gotten to keep my cash tips. I get paid Tuesday i gave my w4 yesterday

I just did a google search about the wage of a pizza hut delivery driver. The figures they listed were really low.

No joke though I really did see a sign that paid the drivers a ton of money. I’ve also seen a sign like that in front of the Papa John’s.

I feel I can work 30 hours maybe. But ssdi only allows me to make a certain amount per month. Trying to figure that out or something Idk But one week working 25 isn’t gonna mess up my disability if he keeps asking I’m gonna tell him I’ll lose my health insurance if I work too much

Same here just started working for papa john’s, and so far it’s been alright. I’m just glad that I am working again. Hopefully this time I’ll keep at it and not give up. On3 of my concerns is that they will take away my medicaid and my ssdi income… If they do I’ll fight for it because I really need the medicaid. I don’t mind them lowering my ssdi income, just not that much…

You are an inspiration!

I am definitely getting back to good times too. It’s all the Zyprexa balancing me out.

How much you earn can affect your SSDI and Medicaid.
Social Security and Medicaid require you to tell them of any changes in income. When you talk to them on the phone or in person they will explain the rules for working while on SSDI.

One factor is if you started collecting benefits just recently and then you immediately went out and got a job it could be a problem. This may not apply to you though.

But yeah, call Social Security as soon as you can so everything is clear and no misunderstanding.

Here in California our health insurance is called Medi-Cal or Medicaid. I’ve been working for many years and still qualify for Medicaid, Medicare and SSDI. I can’t tell you all the rules but Social Security sets it up so people can “test the waters” when it comes to employment. So you will hear about a 9 month trial work period where the recipient can attempt to work and earn money while still collecting benefits. They are not just going to cut you off immediately just because you got a job.

I’m living the dream. It’s a different life than most but I love what I do. With volunteering and getting fitter I’m healthier than I was in my 30’s. I have enough disposable income to have some fun and to engage is hobbies and leisure. I live life without drama and with little stress. So, I would say, that I too am doing really bloody good and join you at better er !
