Negative symptoms getting worse over time - Any one else?

Despite being virtually asymptomatic in terms of positive symptoms, my negative symptoms have continued to get worse over the past 3 years. Is this normal for ppl with schizo/schizoaffective? It’s quite scary. I’m still fairly early in the illness course. Got sick at 15 now 23.

I’m the opposite.
No negatives, but still positives

Things will improve over time if you are 23. Just be patient.

I got sick around age 22/23 and am now 54. My negs aren’t getting worse, but they’re not getting better. I am resigned to being stuck with them for life and having to push my way around them. It’s exhausting, but I don’t know what else I can do at this point.

You’re lucky if you’re 23. There’s new meds coming out all the time. Some of the latest ones target negative symptoms. There’s plenty of hope.

Why am I lucky if I’m 23.

If they work, you’ll have your whole life to enjoy it. I’m 53, it’s all a bit late for me…

Mine just keep getting worse, 19 years in.

Negatives are the new target for the drug manufacturers and some are coming online soonish. I don’t think it will be a serious game changer yet but will probably offer incremental improvements for most. It’s just the way things work and at 23 you’ll see them. I too am over 50 so I’m loath to change my meds I’ve been on for nearly two decades now.

Got sick at 15. Will be 30 by this year. It is cognitive issues that bother me these days. These have been getting bad since last 4 years. Can’t say much on negatives. I am doing better compared to what other struggle with. But personality seems to be becoming hollow and mechanical.

My positives have remained about the same but the negatives are getting worse. I’m middle-aged.
