Since my boyfriend passed away I’ve been back at my pain killer addiction. For those of you who have been down this road I need help! I want to get off but I’m scared of the withdrawals and the PAWS! Loperamide or Imodium which most of you know the name brand is my addiction since I can’t afford Percocet. The withdrawals will be long since it has a long half life. Any suggestions for managing the process? I have clonodine and vistaril and some Valium but these withdrawals are a monster! Any suggestions?
I dont have experience with painkillers but I just read what you’re taking is an opiod? See if you can get Naproxene, an opiod antagonist. @Jonnybegood knows more about this.
I’d tell you to take the Valium but it doesnt interact with opiod receptors.
I’ve been though opioids addiction. Use to be on pain killers bad. Best thing I can tell you is take the Valium to help you sleep through the withdraws and your just going to have to do it cold turkey. Be happy you just have the Valium and colonodine to help you sleep or it would be a Nightmare
Rhat doesn’t help with withdrawals as you can’t even take it until 20 days after you’ve had any drug or alcohol. Plus I don’t have problems with alcohol and since I’m a chef in the middle of building a new restaurant I’m the one creating cocktails and I would be violently ill if I took that drug and had any alcohol!
Yes it’s an opioid. When taken in excess it acts like a Percocet. I’ve cut down from 150 a day (yes that sounds crazy) to 48 and the depression. Cold sweats, claminess, yawning have kicked in. This is mild compared to what’s coming when I quit. Last time the withdrawals lasted months.
You use loperamide as pain killer?
No as an opioid
I have it in a draw for diarrhea. Are you on any antypsihotic.I ask because drug addicts in my country are coming down with Clozaril.
No I’m not on an AP!
That’s not true. It’s like 3 days for opiates out of your system before you can technically take naltrexone. Usually they wait a week for precaution.
I’ve drank on naltrexone it doesn’t make you sick it just blocks all euphoria and makes you not wanting to drink anymore
Not saying it’s for you but that’s not all the truth of it
What ever pain it takes to get clean, it’s worth it. Drugs do not help you in the long term. Recovery does.
That is true with a short half life opiate but with a longer half life opiate like loperamide, suboxone or methadone you have to wait 20-25 days for all the residual opiates to be out of your system.
