Need car help!

Someone swiped our car. It’s not worth it to us to file a claim and have to not have a car for a week while it’s fixed, so we want to maybe fix it ourselves. If not the paint on the fiberglass, at least that little teeny tiny chip on the body.

Do you know anything about how to do this? I’m way out of my element. Just looking to touch up the paint so it doesn’t rust.

Oh no!

I wish I knew more about cars and could help.

Just wanted to say I’m sorry your car got hit.

Thanks. Luckily it was while we were parked and not in the car.

You can buy touch up paint at the dealership auto body shop to match the car.

Do I just need the paint? Do I need to sand it down first? What about any sort of primer?

You can also buy the paint off amazon. Or just get nail polish in a similar color depending on how much you care about look.

If it’s fiberglass you won’t need any primer. It won’t rust. You can wet sand the rough spots with 600 or 800 sandpaper to get out the rough spots. But keep the area small so it will look decent.

There’s a tiny spot on the metal that I’m more worried about. Will it work (don’t really care how good it looks) if I just paint over it?

It will be okay. It’s probably easier to find 400 sandpaper. That will work.

The sandpaper can be hard on your fingers.
