Need an opinion re: Christmas gifts

Is it weird if I give my pdoc, my mental health worker and my proctor a very small token as my thanks to them? I just want to get an organic fair trade chocolate bar for each of them. The bars are only $5 each so not much.

You know them. How do you think they will take it? :thinking::thinking::thinking:

I’ve given my doctors gifts before and they’ve always been accepted graciously. If you feel like doing it, I don’t see anything wrong with it.

I think it’s a very kind thing to acknowledge the professionals who look out for us. I’m sure they don’t receive the appreciate they deserve in most cases.

Sounds like a good and kind idea!

I was going to get my case manager a gift, but my father is telling me it’s not a good idea.
It might even be against the policy/rules.

I posed this question a few years ago. Most forum members found it silly to do so but some saw it as a kind, reciprocal act. I chose to listen to the latter and gifted them thoughtful items.

How did they react? :face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

They are all very kind but I’m just afraid it’s against policy.

I sent it to my pdoc and therapist. They both thanked me and it gave me an opportunity to share how our relationship was aiding me in recovery. It’s good to build rapport, and I think thoughtfulness does the trick.

It’s against policy at my clinic, but I doubt a candy bar would be frowned upon. If you’re worried, maybe just a nice card would do?

Yeah. A nice card sounds alright. :cat2::cat2::cat2:

Where I used to work, when family members of students would get us gifts we were allowed to accept small, tangible goods. Any gift cards or money had to be handed over right away, to be used on group outings.

I had a phase of delusions where last year’s before Christmas I would always gave my pdoc something. I got her champagne, chocolate, coffee I think that’s all.

Now I’ve realize it was not the best idea but I’m writing this with a smile on my face… Silly me…

If I ever want to gave her something I would get her a magnet for the fridge
