Natural remedy for anxiety

Hello there everyone

Just laying in bed unable to sleep again :pleading_face:. Anyway often at night I fret about things that don’t bother me during the day, does anyone else get that? I get anxious also at night and also at .other times during the day. So I was Wondering what natural Remedies people are using for anxiety that have worked for them? I read chamomile tea might help. Has anyone tried that? I was wondering if anyone had tried those ‘calm’ type supplements and if they work too. I don’t want another medication…I am on enough already…honestly I would rattle if you shook me :smile:! Hugs to everyone on this dark and lonely night.

I do breathing exercises.

It kind of forces your body to calm itself.

You do a slow breath in for 4 seconds.

Hold for 7 seconds.

Exhale for 8 seconds.

I think that’s how it works.

That’s how I’ve been doing it anyway,

It helps.

Bacopa has been helping me lately. Also ashwagandha (have to be careful with it, if I take it to many days in a row, it worsens my anhedonia). L-theanine sort of works? But it’s a very mild effect. I think L-theanine is a bit overhyped.

I think you are on the right track with tea. I am a big fan of tea for relaxing. There are a ton of options online. Hop on Amazon and pick out a couple that sound good. They have blends with chamomile, spearmint, lavender and passion flower and many more natural items that have calming and anti-oxidant effects to help you relax and restore.

L-theanine worked wonders for me.

But some brands are useless.

The one that worked for me is

Take a minimum of 2 capsules to feel the effects.

Also quit coffee if you have anxiety problems.

I have severe anxiety. I have tried a lot of things.

5 htp helped a little.

Lion’s Mane (realmushrooms brand) helped a lot.

Thc is hit or miss. It’s 50-50 on whether it will relax or make anxiety worse, so I rarely try it. And it can trigger psychosis in some. But mentioned it because some people have good results.

Cbd has helped, but at the doses required to really help it is expensive.

I learned the slow breathing like charles foster said, plus focusing on something in the palm of your hand like a crystal or polished stone to hold onto helps…good luck.

natural worrying is ok but full-blown anxiety isn’t

My worries stumbled into fear/anxiety…I blame my past trauma for this

Ive learned to accept it

Long walks do not cure anxiety. But exercise does help manage certain symptoms of anxiety.

I use my hobbies, exercise, fidget toys, music and sometimes hydroxyzine to help my anxiety.

NAC has helped my anxiety. Doing crosswords, Wordle, etc might help.

Thanks for all your recommendations, they’ve been brilliant. I just want to take p/do something when it’s necessary so I will try the ones that give immediate relief first.
