My walk on my favorite trail

I hadn’t walked in nature is almost a decade due to paranoia. But I’ve been doing better on asenapine.

My daughter and I walked on my favorite nature trail yesterday. We saw so much wildlife close up. The coolest 2 things were a bright red cardinal that flew right up to me, and stayed a bit, and a wild Turkey that slowly crossed the path right in front of us.

When I used to go regularly long ago, I would go at quiet times and the deer would come right up to me. It was so cool. I’m thinking about going with my daughter again during the earlier or later hours and seeing if she can be calm and quiet enough for the deer to approach. I’m not ready to go alone.

Anyway, I’m really glad I braved it and went. It was super nice.

Thanks so much @Noise ! Yes, it’s a beautiful park wugs lots of nature trails. I used to get lost there but they finally added signs so we were able to walk confidently and simply enjoy the peace and nature. She said she’d like to go again so hopefully we make that happen

I am glad you did it! Nature calms me,too. I haven’t walked to the nature yrail we have in town because of anxiety over being looked at as I walk.

I totally get that. I’m afraid I’m being watched and followed. Plus, I’m insecure about my body again now that I’ve gained so much weight. But if you go on a nature trail a little before sunset, most people are gone and there’s no one to look at you usually. Just bring mace! Lol. Do you have someone who can go with you to distract you from your body just to get you out there?

My kids go sometimes. It’s getting the courage to go out. I’m sure you identify with that part.

Mace wouldn’t help for our area…we have run unto bears at the high school lol. And then we have a huge skunk problem in town. One chased me and my dog! That was funny and exciting.

Bears?! Oh no! I’m terrified of bears! Honestly @ZombieMombie , even if your body is in really bad shape, only terrible people will judge you for it and their opinion doesn’t matter. I get self conscious too about my body and that’s what I try to remind myself of.
