My Therapet

I’m trying to get my mums pet registered as a Therapet, i wrote to my mp and she sent a link to a charity that does it, i didn’t know it was possible as i researched it and it didn’t look like i could do it,

Anyway i sent the charity an email and a donation so hopefully they will help, they should contact me and send me out an information pack about it

now…i wonder if my fish could get registered as Therapets as well when i get them :face_with_raised_eyebrow::joy::joy::joy:

Congratulations, but what does that mean exactly? Do they help you with vaccinations and feed the animal?

they have a therapeutic influence over people

Yes of course, I have a cat and it’s amazing, but your mom already has a pet, so what helps you register her as a therapeutic pet?

well, my mum will be getting a guide dog soon and her current dog will come to me and i wanted to register her as a Therapet bc she gives people so much happiness including my mum and myself,

Just seems like a good thing to do, i think she should be recognised for what she does and i may be able to use her to make others feel good too like in a care home or something

I got my pdoc to sign a therapy pet letter for my new cat. It lets me take my cat into no-pet apartments, so long as I give them that letter saying he’s an emotional support animal. Just not the same as a service animal, fyi, so no trips to Wal-Mart with therapet lol

It just means he lowers my anxiety and has therapeutic value. Just his purring keeps me grounded, man!

I didn’t have to go through anyone, I just found info here on how to approach the pdoc and then I said, I need a therapy cat (aka emotional support animal), and my pdoc had that letter ready in two weeks!
