Just got back from the funeral. It was at graveside ceremony. we all went and saw him at the funeral home before we went out there. I had to cry when my mom started crying. My hardass brother Brian actually read a tearful speech at the grave side and everyone was crying then. It was hard to see the painful expressions he would get to keep from bawling. He did well and I was really impressed what a turn out of people showed up. Faces I hadn’t seen in a long while and I found the service and sermon to be quite comforting. Thank all of you for your support. I love you all.

Oooooo I’m so sorry jukebox…even though you knew it was coming I’m sure it’s still tough…I used to blame my dad for my illness…now I couldn’t imagine living without him. You’ll see him again one day. Unless you live forever !

I’m sorry, jukebox, but you can look at death as an end to suffering. It sounds like your step dad was quite a man. His example can inspire us. He’s in heaven now.

Some may think this weird. but since I already know there is wine in Heaven, I bet my dad is drinking whiskey with Jesus now. cracks me up and I think. Why Not? haha I think I’m a bit whacky from all the emotionalness of the day. Anyways, thank you @crimby for the kind words.
