From LA to suburb outside. Her life will change quite a bit. She works from home. For the baby
Wow. I hope she likes her new lifestyle. I’m in my 40s but have preferred to live outside the city since my twenties. I’m in a city but not a major city. There’s still lots of crime where I live but it’s not as bad as it was when I lived in Detroit many years ago. I hated it there. After that I lived in the suburbs and loved the peace and quiet of my particular neighborhood. Not all suburbs are quiet though.
Hmm that sounds good. Yeah i grew up in the city and used to think it was preferable but now i dont see it that way…i wonder though if it isnt better for youth you know?
I think the suburbs are ideal. You’re close to the city but far enough away that you dont deal with the crime. You’re still near shopping centers and such so you dont have to drive far for your shopping needs. Lots of restaurants. And the schools are usually better. I hope your sister loves it!
I think it depends on which city and where in the city. Yes, it’s good for youth to be free and have fun, but they need to be safe too. When I lived in Detroit, it was the most dangerous city in the country to live in. It was scary and horrible things happened. I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore. I mean I’m dealing with not being safe but at a lesser scale. And I have a car that can take me to a safer area to grocery shop etc if I want.
Since I’ve been getting out on my own, I’ve been sometimes stopping at stores in my area where there’s lots of addicts and mentally ill people which is most likely why I recently had two very strange incidents while out and about. It goes with the territory. If I don’t feel like dealing with all that I need to drive several miles away to shop and run errands or walk around.
Detroit has been a murder capital for decades.
“Researchers compared 45 of the largest cities based on per capita homicides in Q4 2022 and per capita homicides in Q4 2022 vs. Q4 2021 and Q4 2020. Detroit ranked No. 3 on the list of homicides per capita.”.
I’ve lived in suburban Detroit my whole life. It’s no joke. I’ll be in the city twice this month. I go to specific areas only where it’s safer.
Yeah. I lived in the actual city and then just outside the city. I absolutely hated living in the city. Im glad you’re smart and only go where and when it’s safe.
I lived in the south bay of LA for 7 years. Torrance mostly.
Yeah shes moving east of LA
Im often shocked by how well to do shes become lol
Can’t stand LA.
My cousin lives in Silver Lake and I won’t even visit her.
Don’t blame your sister for leaving.
Living in LA was the worst time of my life.
My sisters wife is english, seems that the english have a thing for California there are a lot of expats. Is that in my head @Qwerty ?
