My sister and mum - mum is 76 lives with my sister is 41 and in psychosis for 7 years

I don’t know how to take responsibility for someone’s recovery
I give my mum a break when i stay 2 nights a week. all her other days are spent in frank hell

My sister is talking to me. She hasn’t spoken to my mum for the last 2 weeks.

She has quit alcohol which was long and horrific drinking story and has given up tobacco.

so maybe I have a new role. My sister has now quit drink drugs and tobacco… 3 months ago
what is left after that recovery is a pure and self constrained (quiet) 6 yrs in psychosis .

She is 41, Talking or trust is about as fragile as a butterfly

I, as a life long Schizophrenic
I have no idea how i can take up the helping role when she would clam right up and not have anyone on side who she can say 2 words to#

We had a middle sister who was in deteriorating Schizophrenic psychosis for 12 years and died age 25 in 2001

I’ll say a bit more
as an alcoholic she was quite aggressive.
and now it is so unbelievable amount of caring my mum has done she is practically suicidal herself and now there is some change, mum is processing that

she will speak to no one outside me and mum
peers, doctors, health professionals - not a chance - not now or ever before
my mum has spent about 24 years of primary live in carer of the 3 of us spent in psychosis
one or 2 of us at a time

Toshiko is that you?

Daze, we all had/have Schizophrenia.

I’m medicated and long term stable now although i had a poor prognosis around age 30
middle sister had a worsening course of illness was hit by a car and killed
youngest sister is dual diagnosis and has been psychoitic for 7 years
i have asperger’s

I’ve had real real problems around the issue of responsibility

that will send me over the edge any day of the week
mum’s situation will make me want to step in
mum and i both want to find out about power of autterney

That your younger sister died, must be terrible for everybody,

perception control after drinking is a major contributor,
I hope that your older sister gets on meds, sounds like it’s awful on all of you.
