Thought it would be cool to get my motorbike license and drive a scooter now and then, it will cost a fair bit but it should pay for itself after a year,
My Aunt said they have some old things lying about i could use like a helmet and jacket which are really expensive to buy new so thats a big help, just need to book my CBT (compulsary basic training) and i’m good to go.
How much experience do you have being invisible on the road? I’ve been riding for 34 years and it started getting really bad about a decade ago when smartphones became ubitquitous. I don’t go out nearly as often as I used to because I have so many near misses with idiots now. It was bad enough when they couldn’t see something small like a motorbike. It’s even worse now that people aren’t looking at all.
If it was me I’d get a bike licence and a small road bike. As @anon82948922 says it’s the odds against you with the amount of idiots out there. A small road bike will give you a bit more power if you need it. A moped is just asking for trouble in serious traffic. But that is just my opinion!
well i’d start with a moped, i mean i know its pretty slow but it’ll be enough to take me about from street to street if i get a job doing deliveries or something,
I think i’d upgrade to a 125cc later as these can get to 60mph, i dont want a super bike though no way lol couldnt afford it anyway.
as for being visible, idk how i can make people notice me more except for wearing bright clothing, the noise of the moped is usually very loud as well,
there is a slight problem though and thats the fact i couldnt use a satnav lol
i havent picked one yet but i did see one that looked ok, it was very cheap at £869 and electric but it was out of stock, another one i like is a bit more expensive and i could take the battery out of it and charge it at home so i wouldnt need to put a socket outside and i wouldnt be able to anyway, here’s the more expensive one…
