My pdoc wants totry clozapine again

Ive been on it twice before (900mg each night)…but the problem was my white blood cells dropped to a dangerous level twice so the manufacturers of the drug wont let me try it again unless i do it off licence. Off licence means the manufacturers wont be held responsible if something goes wrong. They said it is the pdoc’s decision to do it but the manufacturers will not be held responsible. Do you think i should try it?

Hell no that sounds like a terrible idea.

Nope. I don’t think you should try it again.

Sounds incredibly irresponsible to me, but I am not a doctor.

What is your current treatment and why does your doctor want it changed?

Ive been on all the antipsychotics and am treatment resistant. Im currently on quetiapine 800mg and olanzapine 20mg but am still stressed by voices and commands.

I take clozapine but my white cells are fine.
I wouldn’t take it if i were you

I’m really sorry to hear that, Karl.
Do you engage in conversation with the voices?
In my experience it was way better when I ignored them, although not always possible. But if persistently ignored, they tend to become less intense.

No i cant ignore them, that is impossible for me. They control every adpect of my life. My life is sh!t because of it

I’m sorry to hear this. I don’t think you should take clozapine again though.

I would stay on those rather than 900mg Clozapine. 900 is the max dose which can cause lots of serious side effects. I read that once you go over 600mg there is a risk of having seizures. On top of that it suppressed your immune system which I read can kill you from any even mild infections.

Sounds risky.
No I wouldn’t do it.

Definitely not. Some pdocs are plainly irresponsible. I think @Om_Sadasiva had also one who put him on above allowed dosages.
