Light box. I called him up on the phone and complained to him about my severe lack of motivation. I told him that I am not depressed or sad and in spite of that, I have not cleaned my apartment in the seven months I have lived here and have no motivation to do so. He told me that a lot of his patients are suffering from seasonal affective disorder this time of year so, he’s ordering a lot of light boxes. I expressed my concern about going manic from this. He poo poohed this idea and insisted on the light box. So, now, I am awaiting this in the mail.

@doing-fine-thanks, Why not ask your pdoc if it would do you any good and he/she might order you one!
I get to the point where I don’t want to clean and then I just don’t. A light box sounds like a good idea actually. I’d like to try it. I don’t think it would fix too much but hey I’d try it.

If you know a doc who would do that, hit me up! I would probably have to contact my pdoc (she’s an online doc) and call my insurance to see if it’s covered.

I don’t know why it wouldn’t be covered. Light boxes have got to be the cheapest contraptions around.
Does your insurance cover it?
I got one from amazon a few years ago and it really helped. I think it was about $100.
I got my SAD lamp on Amazon. They aren’t covered here but I got one for $40. It helps somewhat.
Hopefully you get some relief. I use the one I was prescribed, every day.

Also it is possible to go manic on it. My pdoc wanted to increase my antipsychotic because of it.
My friend ordered me a Blues Buster bulb. I put it in a lamp by my chair. I have been forgetting to use it.
I got my SAD lamp from Amazon.
I don’t use it because it makes me manic.

It’s possible to get manic from it. I can’t do more than 20 mins in the morning with mine or else I won’t sleep, which triggers a manic episode for me.
But I do still use it and like it
