My parents

My parents are my best friends and my biggest support. They don’t judge me and they stop by the house if they know I’m isolating again. I’m thinking about inviting them to a barbecue this weekend. Sometimes I feel bad that they have a sick daughter and that a trigger could set me off at any time. I don’t deserve them.

You do deserve them! Its obvious they love you! It’s so good when families care for each other. I feel lucky to have a good family! Count your blessings and just keep loving them too! :revolving_hearts:

Thank you @FatMama. I do love them, yes. I think I’ll treat them with a buttermilk pie too. :pie:

I love my parents too. Many people ask them questions about me, for example if I work, if I have children, if I can drive a car, etc. For parents of a normal person it’s so easy to give an answer to these questions. But when your daughter is schizophrenic, then it’s more complicated. So they tell lies about me all the time. I used to think they did it because they were ashamed, but now I know they do it because they want to protect me.

Sure you do. You seem like a very decent person. They understand that getting ill was not your fault.
And a barbeque sounds like a great idea.
