My mother is friend with a psychiatrist

Its the cousin of her friend and she knows her. I am changing for her, she’ll be my psychiatrist soon. My current psychiatrist is stubborn and doesn’t want to change my meds at all. He doesn’t deserve me as a patient. My mother’s friend will speak to her cousin who’s a psychiatrist today.

My current pdr doesn’t want to prescribe Vraylar even when it becomes available in 2 months here in Canada.

@Aziz do you know if Canada will be getting Amisulpride?

I really rate that drug.

Have tried some newer ones like Abilify and Latuda, but neither of those ended well.

Amisulpride is very effective, and it does not make me a zombie

Aren’t you already on that? I called the Vraylar company and they told me that it will become available by end of this year in Canada. They have a Canadian branch and phone number in Ontario. Amisulpride isn’t a partial agonist. Only partial agonists worked for my negative symptoms in the past. I know that I am lucky bcz these don’t work for everybody.

Why don’t you try Rexulti or Vraylar?

I am not in Canada.

Just wondered, as it’s nice to have as many options as possible, and my understanding is that it’s not available in North America

The only drug we’re missing really in Canada is a partial agonist without possible addictions and hypersexuality as side effects, Vraylar is the only one.

I guess anyone can call the Amisulpride company to know if will become available in a certain country.

I am not really sure if there is much incentive financially, as it came out in 2002? and is generic now

The wiki page says it’s the second most effective after Clozapine.

My main thing when I am deciding on treatment is what will keep my weight down, as I don’t want diabetes, as I fear I came very close to that on Olanzapine and that scares me

Yes my blood sugar was high on Olanzapine and I had liver problems, I was a seen by a liver specialist Dr and he said its the Olanzapine so they took me off it.

Anyways, I hope it goes well for you getting the new doctor, and the potential for a new more beneficial med.

Sounds like things may well work out for the best

@Loke She’s Syrian like me, my new psychiatrist, the friend of my mother. She’s my age. Your pdr is Syrian, right?

She said I need a family Dr referral first so I booked an apt with my family Dr. She’s in the same clinic as my family Dr and they know each other too. Funny thing is that my cousin is the receptionist of that clinic that’s 5 min from my house lol

Maybe she could be a possible date

But now I can’t hangout with friends or work and I am overweight. There’s little in me that she would like. I can try when I am on Vraylar after having lost weight and got my friends back (I just speak to them online for now but I hung out with them while I was on Abilify). Anyways my cousin told me my apt will be in October. Its full until then, she’ll book it for me tomorrow.
