She told me over the phone that she is hearing voices and seeing things. So I’m going to take her Monday. It’s scaring her causing anxiety.

Yeah it’s very rare to come down with schiz when your older than 40-45

She might have something else, something like a tumor might be possible. She’ll need to be scanned regardless.
You have my well wishes but I doubt that adds up to much.
If it is schizophrenia its not the end of the world either, might take a year or two of trying medications to get the worst figured out, and hopefully that isn’t a majorly painful process for yal. Good luck

People with this can have psychotic symptoms too.

- I’d rather take her to get evaluated to be sure. She talked to herself all my life and saw things hallucinating.

She quit amitriptyline few months ago . She was getting sick from taking it. Then abruptly stopped because doc wouldn’t refill it.
My mom has bipolar and now the doc diagnosed her with dementia. She is in a nursing home bc I couldn’t take care of anymore bc of my sz
