My meds didn't cure me

my bipolar mostly manic with sometimes depression is cured and has been. but i still sometimes hear voices at night. had some last night in fact, i don’t think they will ever go away, i have been on meds without cessation for 5 years, but still get the ocassional distressing night time voice. most of my days are fine and quiet, but i still get a reminder that im not cured a couple times a month. i guess i let the disease progress too much when i was unmedicated and maybe did unrepairable damage. but it is 99% better than being unmedicated. i will just have to live with it, who knows, maybe the rest of my life, maybe better treatments will come along, i don’t know, but this is my reality.

I feel the same way.

But have you tried any supplements? They might fill that last 1% you’re looking for.

not really, i haven’t tried any supplements other the l-theanine, which i don’t think i need anymore, i used it to take the edge off and relax. are there any supplements for voices? that is my only sometimes distressing symptom. i guess i could try a chinese medicine herbal add on? but im not sure if i want to lower my dopamine anymore, or just live with it, and have more energy and emotions.

Some people here have had success with Amyloban3399 for voices.

I don’t hear voices but I tried it anyway and it didn’t work out for me. You might have better luck.

Also what dose of L-theanine were you taking? L-theanine is supposed to help positive symptoms so you might have some luck if you increase the dose?

can’t remember the dose, i think twice the recommended dose of l-theanine. i will look into amyloban3399.

are you the one that takes broccoli extract? if so what is that for?

Yes, I take broccoli sprout extract. It keeps me from feeling distressed all the time and chills me out.

It’s pretty cheap.

There isn’t many supplements for positive symptoms, like @everhopeful said there is Amyloban. I tried Lion’s Mane, its like Amyloban but maybe weaker, it did nothing for my negative symptoms. I don’t have positive symptoms on meds except for rarely hearing my home doorbell ring or my mother calling my name when no one is there.

You can try Amyloban or Lion’s Mane. Lion’s Mane is much cheaper. @anon4362788 knows about Lion’s Mane.
