I got a Chromebook, and in the about ChromeOS section it says my computer will receive updates until June of 2026. I didn’t think a computer would be good for that long. What do you think?
MacBooks last 10 years with updates.
I’ve had my pc for over 2 years. No plans to replace anytime soon. Back when I was younger I used to use for gaming so I made frequent purchases of new ones. I don’t see the need now, if I’m just going to use for internet.
People don’t use Limwire now. That really messed computers up back in the Days. Mainly Spotify and Apple Music now.
Thanks @bobbilly @Bowens I’m really happy with my Chromebook, so I don’t want to replace it anytime soon. I just bought it last summer and got the Chromebook because it’s cheap.
@anon54988740 Chromebook’s are really worth the money, they are good, less viruses. My friend in the group home I live got one with his mobile/cell phone and its a good computer. Good for surfing the internet and music/Netflix.
Thanks @bobbilly I don’t do much on the computer other than browse the internet, email, and occasionally write a letter.
Internet and Netflix and music is all I use my MacBook Air for and its overkill for what I need it for.
@Rester expensive computer at the time?
I think it was around a mid range model. I don’t remember what I paid for it but it wasn’t a higher priced one. I changed the hhd with a ssd. I bought it at best buy. It might be too slow for games.
Social services purchased my first computer for education (2001) (I was a foster child) At around the same time Grand Theft Auto liberty City came out so my education consisted as play the hell out that game. I still love GTA now. Can’t wait until the new one comes out. Will defiantly get a new TV and PS5 for it.
I have ten-year-old systems I’m still using without problems.
Thanks @anon82948922 that’s nice to know. Considering I only paid something like $250.00 for it, this Chromebook seems to be a good deal for me.
The one I’m using right now was scrounged at the electronics recycling depot. It had shoddy RAM. I just swapped out what I had salvaged from a different system and then loaded ChromeOS on it.
I love free, it’s the right price.
I tend to replace my gaming computer every 2 years. Just seems a sweet spot where the newer technology and gains in gaming make it worthwhile spending all that money. I’m planning on building at the end of the year as my current setup is just over 2 years old. Busy saviing.
I have had my laptop since 2011… HPs are strong af
Thanks @anon63380492 @rogueone
