My Interview - autism, down syndrome, etc

The interview was at a centre for people with disabilities. The people there had autism and down syndrome, learning disabilities, and had a lot of support needs. I know I am going to sound completely ignorant, but when I pictured autism, I thought of people like me. Again, I am sorry if this sounds ignorant. I just realised that autism really is a spectrum. I might need more support than others on the spectrum (or less). We are all completely different.

I really want this job but I have no idea how to help people who have disabilities. At the interview I did say I would like help and training in order to help more. Maybe this will go against me.

I think it could be interesting work. You’ll learn a lot about disabilities.

It’s probably a learning process. If you’re eager to learn, that would probably go a long way. Of course, if there is someone with extensive experience it might be hard to beat that.
