My grocery delivery was early

My groceries were early. She was young and inexperienced. She put my bread in the bottom of my cart. I rescued it. I gave her a good tip anyway. I want them eager to deliver to me.

I’m waiting for my grocery delivery right now. It always stresses me out for some reason.

The only thing that stresses me is if they are a no-show. That happened only once. I had to reorder groceries the next day and get a credit for the ones I didn’t receive. I get nervous if it gets towards the end of the delivery time, and they haven’t left the store yet.

Glad to hear it. We’re you at home or did they enter your home and out them up?

They leave them at the door. I’m always in for them.

I’ve never had my groceries delivered. I’m afraid that they would pick out bad bananas, or overripe tomatoes for instance

I still go to the grocery store, but follow all procedures

I used to get my groceries delivered when I was in Oregon, but now I’m too rural for delivery. :sob:

Does it cost extra to get them delivered?

Yes but it varies. I’ve used Safeway, Walmart, and Smart & Final. For Safeway, the delivery fee depended on the window of time you wanted them delivered. For instance, a one hour window cost $10.00 for the delivery fee i.e. “Between 3:00 pm and 4:00” would be $10.00. A two hour window would be $5.95 and a four hour window would be $3.95.
That actually isn’t a bad price for me; I usually get the two hour window.

Smart & Final was a rip-off, I’ll never have groceries delivered from
there again. I can’t remember all fees, but I ended up paying a whopping total of $46.00 of fees on top of the cost of the groceries. I paid like $11.00 delivery fee, a $10.00 “service fee” and a mandatory tip of like $15.00. This was for about a $175 order.
I haven’t shopped Walmart online for at least 7 years but I seem to remember the cost for delivery was reasonable.
So you see how they can vary.

I use Walmart Grocery. They charge $12.95 a month for unlimited deliveries. You should tip the delivery person though.

I work as a grocery deliverer in my city up until I injured my foot and hand. I love working that job. You don’t need to tip, but it’s so appreciated. I have a five star rating by my customers. I take great pride in that. Hubby loves it because I am shopping but not spending my money. Lol
