My garage. (I have to clean it)

My garage is absolutely and totally full of crap.

Boxes and boxes of useless stuff my husband has managed to hold onto for 20 years.

A few of the boxes are mine or ours,

But he’s the main offender.

My husband told me if I can get rid of all the stuff,

He’ll get the RV.

What would you do to get rid of all the stuff.

I can’t call a “haul away your junk” place because I have literally no budget for it.

And it would surely be a lot of money.

I might just start loading my car up with stuff and going to the local dumpsite.

What would you do?

rent a dumpster

you can rent those bins that hold up to a garage of stuff…fill it, they carry it off…

or is that what you meant by those “haul away your junk” place? I assumed you meant people come and do the work for you

Locally, it only costs about 250 to 400 bucks for a day. No idea in your area though.

I’ll check into it, but that might be out of my budget.

There are a few things I can sell, a few I can give away, but most of it is trash.

Getting U-Haul take everything to the local dump

I did this with my mother in law’s dialysis supplies before our last move.

I think that’s a good idea,

But I could only have the U-Haul for the day.

I have to go through everything first,

Sort it, then take the stuff to the dump.

I want to do it little by little.

Take like a car load every day.

We’ll see.

I don’t know what’s best.

I would hire some young adults, seeing as it’s still summer to help you go through and organize. Hire like temporary assistants.

I just looked up local dumpsters and I was way off on the price. What I had originally looked at were 2 and 7 day rentals. And I saw some estimates much cheaper than that for the day…just wanted to throw that out there before I head out to dentist. It might at least be worth looking into pricing.

Good luck!

Garage sale - some of it may be of interest to others. Throw out what they don’t buy.

My garage is a mess but my basement is worse.
I’m thinking of hiring a haul away company like College Hunks but like you said, they are quite pricey

They cost us around $750 dollars last time they emptied out our garage
