My doctor started me on 2.5 mg of Zyprexa

Do you think this will be helpful? I don’t know if it’s a low dose? Thanks

I take 20mg so it’s a low dose! But it might work for you.

Early intervention with appropriate medication leads to better outcomes. It’s that simple.

You’ll soon learn if you need it or not because side effects can be a problem. It’s a starting dose for sure. I do well on 10mg’s but I’ve had a couple of episodes so I’m statistically more likely to need medication for life.

Oh my gosh wow! I hope it’s not useless at such a low dose

No, as I said it might work for you! Do what the doctor says.

I tried 2.5mg Zyprexa when I was titrating down my dosage. It didn’t work for me, but it might work for you if you have mild symptoms. I really need 10mg to deal with my symptoms, but it gave me high triglycerides.

Can I ask which symptoms it helped most with?

Sure, on 10mg it helped me with hearing animal sounds, hallucinating people laughing at me on the radio, oppressive thinking (like everything is doom and gloom), stopped me from thinking everything is important. That sort of thing.

At 2.5mg, all these things were still gone, but my paranoia was high and I could feel energy transferring between people at a higher than normal rate, and I was unhappy because of that.

I’m glad the 10mg is working for you!

I was on 2.5 mg, it did nothing for my depressive symptoms. Now im on 5 mg, and feeling a bit better.

If you primarily have anxiety or sleep problems, 2.5 mg might be enough.

It helps me sleep massively, doesn’t stop my voices so much but because I’m not tired I can cope with them! :joy:
