My daughter came to the house to cause drama

She came in the back door, sweetly asking to talk to me and motioned for me to come to the back room. I didn’t move and asked what she wanted. She nicely asked to borrow $20 for gas. I said no. She begged for a while. I continued to say no. She went to ask her brother to borrow $40. He said no. She came out of his room and began yelling at me about things from the past. I didn’t react. She went out back to where my ex, her stepdad was and began to tell him that I stole money from her and dry humped her boyfriend at the casino. She then said she had it all on security tape and was going to call the police and have me arrested. Then left.

Wow…I don’t know how to help.

Sounds like she needs cash for addiction issues and is having a fit for not getting her way.

Does your daughter do drugs?

Yes my daughter has recently started using drugs again after a long period of being clean.

Typically, drugs cost a lot of money. Typically, people take drugs in an attempt to feel better. It is not a bad motive, really, just short sighted.

Drugs get right into a user’s brains and change behavior.

You didn’t cause it, leaf, and you can’t control it. I think you’d be wrong to condemn it.

Typically, drug addiction in the family causes a lot pain and suffering; I know.

Right, we can’t cure other folk’s addiction issues. It is hard enough dealing with my own addiction stuff!

I know that was hard,

But you did the right thing.

It was, but you know it’s starting to get easier each time I say no to her and the more ridiculous she gets.

That’s just the addiction.

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this.

How is the son in law holding up?

Is he taking care of your grandkids?

He is doing pretty good actually. He has his head screwed on right and the kids are his priority. He needs help though. Housing is a big issue because there’s such a shortage here. But he just filled out 3 applications and he should have priority because he’s homeless. So I’m hoping he can keep it together in the meantime.

I hope he gets in somewhere quickly.

Meanwhile, who has the kids?

She’s clearly on drugs and if he’s homeless,

Where does that leave them?

Do you need to get child services involved?

CPS is being contacted today by the police officer that came out this weekend and heard Holly admit to doing acid the previous day. He has the kids mostly but she tries to take the 2 year old and then can’t handle it and gives her back always with a different excuse. He is couch surfing and I think he’s got a place to stay for the next 2 weeks. It’s hard to couch surf with a 2 yr old and a 10 month old. Not too many people will put up with that.

Try not to let her upset you. I used to get mad at my mom and would slam down the receiver, when we had old phones. She died in 2020. I regret ever saying anything bad to her.
