I had my first colonoscopy today. They found 2 polyps that they removed and will analyze but definitely the prep was worse than the procedure. They knocked me out with fentanyl and propofol and i didn’t feel a thing. I took the lady from church who drove me out to breakfast afterwards then came home and slept. Overall, if the biopsies come back okay i won’t have to do this for another 5-10 years, or maybe even get to do the poop in a box next time. I’m glad it’s done and over with. I was nervous about the whole thing since my sexual abuse involved that area of my body but it was all okay.

When my IBS was flaring up, I had to do one. You are right about the prep. The main thing I remember is the anesthesia burning very badly as it went through my veins. I’m glad yours is done, and I hope the polyps come back normal.
