I am taking care of my sisters dog in my apartment while she is on vacation in Mexico for two weeks. I like her dog and it’s no problem.
Right this minute my cat and the dog are sleeping peacefully on my bed about a foot apart. Isn’t it neat when cats and dogs can get along with each other? They have some understanding between them. Except for an occasional flare up of anger, they pretty much tolerate each other and let each other alone in my small apartment. My cat even plays with the dogs tail and bats it around; out of curiosity it seems.
Yeah its cute when dogs and cats get a long together - I used to have a cat and 2 dogs when I was married, but my dogs did not like the cat so much

My dog Hotcha used to get along fine with our cats. She appreciated the extra food.
It’s a blessing if the cat and dog get along well. I am amazed.
Yeah, she ate my cats food and then vomited three times on the rug.
Yeah, I only get her about every three months or so. So it is amazing that these two animals who don’t live together and only see each other a few times a year can get along so good.
We used to have a real dog named Hank but had to put him down after he started attacking other dogs in our community, he was old (we still don’t know exactly how old. He was fully grown when we got him and had him well over 5 years. For the most part he and my cat would get along, but this was when we lived in the house and the only room we could ever get Hank (who was raised out in the country and had never been allowed inside before) was the basement. Yet Padme (my kitty) would still go down and sit with him at night when we could get him to come in. She also put up with my brother’s girlfriend’s dog when they lived with us but would occasionally get into scraps with their male cat Penguin. It wasn’t until we moved into the apartment that she and Hank stopped getting along so well. One night he almost snapped on her when she scared him (by accident) but we were able to pull her away before he could do any harm to her. Since then she kept clear of him. Then when he got lose during a walk and attacked a neighbors dog we had to give him up. I didn’t want to put him to sleep but because he was a very much older dog and was starting to go blind they told him it wasn’t debatable.
Now we have this statue of a dog we brought home from one of our trips up to Chicago to visit my grandpa. We named him Spot and he sits in front of our TV, watching over the living room. Padme still isn’t sure if Spot is real or not and we’ve had him well over two weeks now. We’ll find her sitting over next to him almost posing, like she’s saying, “I’m prettier than he is.”
Occasionally we see her staring at him like she’s playing the staring game…we tell her you’re never going to win that game with him but she still does it. Below is a picture of Padme posing next to Spot I took, with my cell phone, just the other night.

Your kitty PadMe IS a funny, lovely cat. She looks strong and healthy. Envy you have such a beautiful cat.
She’s a spoiled rotten brat when mommy tells her no she runs to grandpa and grandma and will get what she wants…
Yeah, cats could be spoiled by their masters. The other day my husband and I took a stroll around the park and we saw a cat lay on one of the steps. I tried some cat-talking sound to the little thing. To my surprise, the cat stood up and walked towards us. Then she/he lay down by our feet with its legs waving to us, as if inviting us to stroke her/him. We were amused by such an approachable cat. We guess this cat must plays with its master very often.
My baby usually runs and hides when strangers come near. She sits with us all night, will even lay on my lap, or if I’m sleeping on the couch she’ll sleep on my tummy but she’s not very warming to people she doesn’t know. Even when my brother and his girlfriend comes over she hides and they used to live with us for several years.
My cat Kahlua used to get along quite well with the neighbor’s dog Cinnamon. He’d chase every other cat but her. I think its because when they first met she scratched him on the nose. Ever since then he respected her, followed her around.
Yeah, a scratch on the nose to show that doggy who is boss. I get it. Padme’s front claws are declawed…she still has her back ones but since she’s an indoor cat and at the time had very little contact with other animals I thought it was best to have her declawed so she didn’t destroy our furniture. She was just a 4 month old kitten when I got her. I’ve had her about 8 or 9 years now. She’s out lived Mr. Hank (our former dog) and finally has gotten rid of my brother’s cat Penguin and their dog Memphis since they’ve moved out and took their pets with them. So she’s queen of the house now, not like she wasn’t before but now she doesn’t have to go and worry about any other pets…then we bring the sill statue of a dog home and she still can’t decide if it’s real or not.
