Yeah last night I go out for a smoke and find my cat sitting next to another cat his same color (orange). He’s nine years old and has spent the last nine of those years indoors until I introduced him to the great outdoors which he’s been enjoying. He doesn’t go far either, pretty much sticks around the property.
(in other news)
it snowed the other day for a good while…no accumulation but a decent flurry of snow throughout the day. Three years ago we had an actual snow storm around Halloween and got slammed.
First clash of personalities with the exec D yesterday…it was about why I hadn’t just put in my resume for the staff position at the new startup. I just turned around and walked out as this guy who I’ve never had problems with laughed me down. What he doesn’t understand is that these people are going to need a while to get to know me and that I and not he know the situation over here on the coast. There are family ties as well to the board of directors which complicates things.
Some people I swear.
Got a dreaded “therapy” appointment later this morning. Being encouraged to just go in there and sit down and somehow be myself. Yet every time I walk in there that’s what goes out the window. It’s something of a major trigger for me…therapy. Try, try again seems to be the current wisdom.
Cats can adjust to different situations quite well. When I lived in my auto over two years in America I had one black cat living in the same auto for over one year, but then I decided to move to Europe and I had to leave this cat behind, I taught him to stay on the South campus of Florida International University where many other cats were and people gave cat food to these cats. It took for a while, but he learned to stay there after living in the auto with me. He probably is only one of few cats who travelled across America from Miami to LA in 3.5 days with me in the auto. He tried to escape in Beverly Hills, but decided to come back to the auto and then we journeyed back to Miami.
My cat Stripes a.k.a. Fat fat has a girlfriend named Fluffy. He visits with her outside and we leave food out for her on cold nights (but I think he eats it).
Our serious snow last year will probably hold us for another 20 or so years.
Director positions are prime A-hole grounds. The D stands for something else too. Nepotism is always a tricky road block (unless you’re related to some on the B of D? I assume you’re not.). If you feel like it won’t cause you any discomfort, put in your resume. I know you can handle it. Dealing with jerks is just a fact of life and you will do well if you accept the D’s you cannot change.
I know I’ll probably have a similar post in the future. In fact, I have one now.
There is this guy at the office. He’s the son of the lady who works as an abstractor. When the current secretairy was on maternity leave he hit on the substitute secretary. She was with someone at the time, so he moved along to me. He asked me to friend him on facebook. Then he started saying creepy stuff like,“I think you’re very pretty,” but he’d basically ignore me at the office. He never made any effort to approach me as a friend. Anyway, his voice is annoying and he cursed out a coworker over something stupid.
I wish you the best all the same @mussel
I’ve been getting depressed at night. I might even make a thread about it, but it will have to wait for now.
must be nice for kitty. My cat had my brother’s cat living with us for a while and the two didn’t get along, of course he wasn’t neutered (she was spayed back when she was six months old) and she was in the house long before he showed up, so she thought the house was hers but he comes along usually being the head of the pets in his family and was trying to create his dominance over her. Occasionally the two would sit near each other, but not directly next to each other. It was funny before Penguin (my brother’s cat…he’s a black and white tuxedo cat) came to live with us my little Padme used to stand on her hind legs and chipper like the squirrels she watched outside the house…I swear she used to think she was one of them until Penguin came in the picture.
