Dude be careful my dad has vision problems due to diabetes if you think itā€™s a medical emergency than it probably is Iā€™d go to the hospital if I was you

@Bowens Do you have an over-the-counter ketone test kit to check your urine or a meter to test your blood for ketones?

Does your insurance or medical provider have a 24/7 advice line you can call? With blood sugars that high, one of the things you need to be concerned about is diabetic ketoacidosis which is an emergency situation.

My provider usually has a doc on call on call on weekends and off hours and such, but Im not sure if they would be available this late at night. I would suspect they would most likely be sleeping.

I just checked bs again and it was 349 now, so I think its headed in the right direction.

I have been prediabetic for quite a few years and have not really taken it seriously. I think I better start to.

I remember learning about ketones in a prediabetes/diabetes class offered through my medical insurance. I remember one guy in the class said that he had no idea he even had diabetes until he ended up in the ER with symptoms that turned out to be diabetic ketoacidosis.

just as an update, I just woke up a few hours later and my bs is 204. I was so spacey I may have double taken my insulin last night. Dropping 100 points in a couple hours seems fastā€¦anywhoā€¦ill just have to keep an eye on.
