My back is killing me!

Hope your back gets better soon @Wave

Are u gonna go gp for it?

@Happy_H @anon90843118
I went to my gp and told him, he checked it out and agrees with me that it’s most likely muscular.
He told me to stretch more often.
No X Ray.

It’s probably because I’m so damned fat and sedentary.

He referred me to a Nutritionist

It’s hard to stretch when your back hurts! Can you walk? That can really help build core strength and can make a huge difference in back pain. My dad has had over 20 spinal surgeries, and he walks about 2 miles a day. He’s 60, and he’s recovered from his most extreme surgery to date really well. He only had it 4 months ago, too.

Right now I’m having a hard time walking but I plan on being more mobile as soon as I’m feeling better.

Well, feel better soon! I keep planning to walk too, but I keep getting thwarted by weather. Then, on nice days, I hurt, so I don’t go.

Hi @Wave, I’m struggling right now with a back injury too. I did a 20km hike & that seems to have set it off - feel like I’m being penalised for exercising. I’m having treatment from my osteopath, I feel a bit better from the first treatment. Unfortunately I’ve had to take time off work & cancel shifts. Can you get some treatment from an osteo?

No I don’t like seeing different doctors and specialists.
I’m feeling a bit better today than yesterday, so I’m hoping for the best.

But thanks @Flutterby

I hope you feel better soon! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @Happy_H

LS! I advise people with back pain to rub some cajaput oil. And try this Tai Chi:

I am gonna recommend looking at a TENS unit on Amazon for about 28 bucks. Order the extra 20 bucks worth of like 48 electrode pads and the extra 10 bucks worth of specific 9 volt batteries. Looking at 60 bucks, but 2 day prime that thing, it’ll help. I use it on my back for arthritis in my lower pelvis and lower back. But you can put those pads anywhere on your back, legs, hips, arms, just not your neck. You control the intensity, pulse, etc. Read up on it, if it’s for you great, if not, maybe in the future. You don’t need a doctor to RX them anymore, and most insurances will give you the same one I described. But charge you a copay of 200-400 dollars if you go thru doctor. My orthopedic surgeon is the one that had a printed page of what one to order.

Like I’ve said before, I have to stretch my spine to get rid of back problems. I both stretch and rotate my shoulders back and forth. You’ll hear the spine pop sound when rotational alignment is properly restored.

Then I run my fingers down the back of my spine, and do so to see if all the vertebrae are in their proper place. If one vertebrae is poking out slightly, I use my wooden arch board, and rock back and forth on that, such that it pushes the vertebrae back in its proper place. Anyhow, that does the trick.

Thanks @agentmulderfbi @raelyn218 @OTRA.
I’m going to try the sitting down Tai Chi exercises once I’m feeling a bit better.
Right now I can hardly move.

Hope you feel better soon @Wave. It’s a crummy time of year to feel unwell.

I understand not wanting to see strangers & a strange practitioner. I was in a very vulnerable & immobile state with tonnes of unrelenting pain before I was willing to try my osteo.

You do what’s best for you, you know your body the best.

I’m glad you have seen your GP. Sounds like you really need some physical exercise.

That’s awesome @Wave well done!

What are you plans for the 25th?

Well on the 24th I’ll be spending it with lots of family and friends.
The 25th is usually quietly spent at home with my Dad and Aunt.
Thanks for asking @Flutterby.

I’m so sorry @Wave. I recommend losing weight, yoga, and/or some other form of exercise at least 30 minutes every single day. And for goodness sake, get off that couch!

Happy to report that I’m staying away from lying down on the couch.

Thanks @SkinnyMe
