What did you pay for these results? I’d be curious but from what I’ve read it’s more regional accurate over specific populations. I’m not sure of the accuracy of these sorts of tests just quite yet but someone prove me wrong.

Yeah no dramas…was just wondering about the accuracy. I need to read more about it. Very cool and was it anything unusual to your thinking of your past?

I know from my immediate relatives that I am a mix of English, Portuguese, Irish and Spanish

Might do one of these tests some day, but 85 euros is a lot!

Pretty cool. My sister did one of these and found out we are actually much more Scottish instead of Irish.

Also, very interesting that both sides of your family were actually escapees from the Balkan Wars. My grandma’s family (father’s side) were actually White Russians. They fled during the Bolshevik Revolution.

The best guide to your ancestry is via your cousin matches.

My DNA is 100% alcoholic.

Inherited from my dad and his dad.

I’m not interested in mine, truth be told. I did get my puppy’s done, though. Waiting for results and should have them in May, if not sooner. I think it’ll say he has very few branches on his family tree.

I’ve had different results from different companies. Ancestry said I was mostly Scottish, English and German. My Heritage said I was mostly English, Scandinavian and Eastern European. National Geographic said I was mostly German, then updated and said mostly Mediterranean. National Geographic goes back about 10,000 years. The others 500-1000 years. I think the more recent ethnicity is probably more important and more dominant.

Yeah, you know you’re a redneck if your family tree is a straight line.

Yes- you’re right, Bad post by me. Should have said ethnicity rather than ancestry.
