My 27 year old housemate has to have 23 fillings and 4 teeth out

He smokes roll-ups and drinks 2 litres of coke every day for years and he’s quite proud of it. Weird!!! I’m 32 and never had one filing or any work done. I put it down to being poor as a young child and only drinking tap water.

My neighbour is the same with the cokes and the smokes. He actually thinks the coke is good for him that there are vitamins in it !

He won’t be proud of it once he gets the dental bill. I needed 13 fillings and a root canal recently (drank way too many energy drinks over the summer to survive geodon sedation) and it cost 3,000 something dollars.

I must have good teeth or something…my gums are receding a bit but I drink a lot of soda and stuff. My teeth are fine.

The best way to keep teeth in good, healthy shape is to practice preventive measures. Including brushing regularly and seeing a dentist regularly who gives a good cleaning. I get my teeth cleaned every three months. My dentist tells me I could get by just having one or two cleanings a year but since I have dental insurance from my job he recommends getting them cleaned more often.

there are a few things availible in america that stop the bacteria strep mutans that eats sugar and excretes acid, those are mouthwashes with chlorhexadine, original listerine and prescription mouthwash.

That’s really a lot of dental work. I have two crowns so far and I am 47.

this 16 year old who drank a monster drink and he had a heart attack and died.

I saved up to have my teeth cleaned.

I only started having my teeth cleaned professionally three years ago.

I had a envelope with $107 sitting in my draw for over a year waiting to be given to those that cleaned my teeth and I had them cleaned last week.

The one I had before I moved spent more time and seemed to use more instruments and so forth.

It could be because she is a oral hygienist and that’s all she does while the dentists seem to rather other work tasks and may not be as thorough or take as long time use protective paste etc.

I see it as a investment so that one may avoid expensive dental procedures in the future.

I brush my teeth twice a day .
I want to start flossing more often as I can be s bit slack with that.

The ironic thing is that if your on benefits in the U.K you get all your dental work for free (like he will get his 23 fillings and 4 teeth out for free) yet he never went to the dentist. I go every 6 months and got a moulded mouth guard for teeth grinding for free and they are mega expensive.

He would’ve had to have a pre-existing heart condition.
