I find my music taste has changed to a degree with getting older. Some artists from my youth still stick with me, but there is also a lot I don’t listen to anymore, while discovering new music that suits me better.
Nowadays I guess I like calmer music as a rule. Not so much heavy stuff.
Thats a good thing. I was reading an article recently saying that generally a lot of people listen to the same music their whole lives and never really branch out of the box at all.
I love music to death. Constantly have music playing at home. Always discovering new bands and artists.
Haha interesting question…it made me think…on second thought, maybe it did change. In mood & message.
In my 20’s I listened to music I could dance and flirt to a lot. Intense, sensual and passionate music. World music. Music that was about fighting the world for freedom, like foreign protest songs. Louder music. Metallica.
Then a shitload of crap happened.
And I ended up listening to soothing music a lot, about overcoming emotional pain by finding inner strength and faith.
I’m picking two extremes…but I basicly went from this…
To this…(written by a guy who just lost his four daughters)
Mmmm I tried to see a difference but can’t really see it maybe I listen to more genres now but it was always like that, just less frequent. It seems also that Green Day has been a usual instance in the soundtrack of my life.
I like some rock n roll and some country. I like other songs that I don’t know what genre they fit into. I tend to like or dislike a song independently of its genre.
My taste in music has changed drastically as I’ve aged. I used to love pop, r&b, heavy metal and what would now be called, classic rock. Also some alt. rock.
But, ever since I started studying and playing classical piano 17 years ago, I have slowly, (Very slowly), gradually got turned on to classical piano music. Especially in the last year.
