I have Truman Syndrome and I often/usually believe music is about me. Listening to the Gorillaz new album right now and it’s making me tense/anxious. Any way to shoo this belief away so I can enjoy music more again?
Sometimes I get this delusion but with movies.
Just shrug it off really. Chalk it up to a brain being silly and making connections it isn’t supposed to.
Me too!

I have this with my prayer books.
Sounds like a good idea. I’ll keep that in mind.
I once thought 666 the number of the beast song was about what I was going through. “Was this all real or just some kind of hell” and I see shadow people and there is a part that goes with that.
I once believed the whole “classic rock” of the 60’s was about me.
I have it too
Also with the TV it happens a lot.
Look up ideas/frames of reference. It’s a positive symptom of psychotic disorders.
It’s nothing special and it never is.
Take the pills they give you. It works out better for most!
Thanks for your advice, @rogueone
Today radio talked about madness and I thought it was about me. Newspapers do it too
I have this problem too.
I’ve had this for both music and tv. It’s not fun to have to deal with. What worked for me was learning to tell myself every time I caught it and told myself I’m not that important that a song or tv isn’t about me or sending messages to me.
Thanks! 15151515
