Moving to Africa. Again

My babies daddies let us know they’re moving back to an African country.

Not the one they were in before.

I have mixed feelings.

I’m excited for my kid to experience a place with such a deep and rich culture in such a real way.

It’s a freaking paradise, absolutely amazing and of historical significance.

However,

They wouldn’t be moving there in the first place if there weren’t political issues.

The kid is starting middle school and attending regular school instead of private French school for the first time.

They all know the language and feel okay about it (the kid’s totally normal anxiety about starting middle school aside.)

I just worry a lot,

But they said this is the last big move.

They’ll be back in the states in a couple years.

Don’t worry, I’m sure your son will be very protected. And if his dads work for the U.S. they’ll have the State Department there to protect everyone.

They work for the State Department, homie!

Yes, you’re right.

I do believe they’ll be safe.

It’s just an interesting country that they wouldn’t have to work with if they didn’t have issues,

You know?

But I have to say,

Despite feeling uneasy,

I’m a little jelly of his life experiences.

He’s a very fortunate kid getting to experience so many places and meeting so many different people.

Oh cool!

I had a feeling they worked for the State Department, I just wasn’t sure if you wanted that to be known.

They’re guarded by the Marines.

I met a lot of Marines when I was in tech school in Biloxi, MS. They shared tech schools with the A.F. and Navy. I know that they will sacrifice their own lives to protect fellow Americans and America in a second. :statue_of_liberty:

It sounds like your son will be very well cultured when he reaches adulthood!

That’s really nice of you to say.

It’s true they’re pretty much covered by MP.

I know you’re right about the personal sacrifices they would make for others.

My dad is miliary and I grew up on base.

I have a lot of respect for the guys that leave the comforts of home and their own families to insure other’s safety.

You should be really proud of yourself and your military brothers and sisters.

Thank you amiga!

Yes, I’m very proud of my service and the brothers and sisters I served with.

I keep in touch with a lot of them on Facebook.

One veteran friend recently had a beautiful baby.

He actually met his wife on a deployment too!

She’s from the Philippines.

I’m glad you’re in touch still.

It’s awesome about the baby.

It’s a big deal.

Some African countries still have the death penalty for Gay people.

I hope they go to a safe country.

Hopefully everyone will be safe and it’ll be a great experience. It’s great they know the language. That helps tremendously.

Wow!

What a big move (I’m sure the dads are used to it, but dang)

I would be a little nervous if I were you too honestly.

BUT, I am sure everything will be perfectly fine!
And it’s great your kid is getting so many experiences.

well it scares me but everything scares me…I hope he has the time of his life.

That’s bad big move.

Richmond in the UK is nice.
