Moving back in with parents

I’m considering moving back in with my parents though I absolutely do not want to. But I’m tired of worrying about rent and electric. I just can’t handle it anymore. The stress of working is absolutely tearing me down. But I would be throwing my future away with school…

I’ve lived with my parents my whole life, except when I lived on residence at University. I’m 43 and have no plans to move out.

Ideally I would like to be independent and have my own place but that just isn’t realistic. I very occasionally beat myself up over it but generally speaking I’m fine living at home

I have lived with my parents ever since recovering from my last psychotic episode. I lost both of my jobs because of psychosis and was penniless for a long time until I was able to get disability. It would be a real stretch on my resources to live alone now, even though I have a considerable amount saved. I prefer to stay with my parents until they pass away so that I will not use up my resources in the meantime and will be able to sustain myself properly after they they pass. I pay rent, sometimes buy groceries, sometimes buy take out food, pay for my mom and my cigarettes, and pay all my own bills like phone bills, doctors visits, streaming service , etc. So I think it works out well for all of us.

I wish you good luck in your decision Moon.

Honestly, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but school is Over rated for people with health issues.

Employers dont want to deal with it. Trust me.

Especially the way the labor market is. Basically you’ll need to possess some kind of unique talent most people don’t have and our brains don’t work right.

Whats your expierience in that regard? I wouldnt generalize

Could be the area I’m from. Or every company that ive ever worked for.

If 1 candidate has a disability and 1 does not have a disability: which do you think is getting hired.

You don’t have to tell them your schizo of course. But they’ll find out eventually and fire you

We’re also kind of ina tight labor market.

Generalizing lack of interest from employers to candidates with health problems can be generalized in my experience, unfortunately

If you think moving in with your parents will help you with your job you should do it.

I’d have to find a new job and work less. But idk what job would hire me for less than I’m working now.

Hey dude.

I hope I didn’t discourage you yesterday by saying school is a waste.

What I was getting at is you don’t want to become saddled with debt that you can not pay off. And student loans are not forgivable with bankruptcy.

Hoping things work out,
