Which antipsychotic is most sedating (even after you get used to it)? At what dose each become sedating?

A good thirty years ago when I was first in hospital they put me on stelazine and that was very sedating apart from that olanzapine was very sedating and I would wake up late.

My vote is for thorazine. which I took a long time ago when they still prescribed thorazine.

Seroquel also known as. Quetiapine. I slept a lot on it. Eventually it dropped my blood pressure I kept passing out. So yikes.

Does quetiapine cause long-term sedation if they keep you on a consistent dose indefinitely?

Yeah I would say it does. Been on it 7 years now. And I’m always asleep within the hour when I take it at night. But that’s a good thing for me

No once it wears off in the morning. Maybe a little groggy for an hour or so.

Seroquel is only baby food for sedation.
Lets get serious so I agree with science that Clopixol LAI is the most sedating antipsychotics ever made without I will nevet sleep
And if you have a tendency to anger that I’ve Clopixol stand out compared to other antipsychotics.

I tried several
Clozaril, for me is most sedating, which is why I take it before bed

Seroquel is stronger for me. I collapsed on the floor after I took it once from exhaustion.

Read the dug comparison write on google the most sedating antipsychotics ever made. You will find that Clopixol is rated as the most sedating antipdychotics ever made and even stronger than Clozapine.

Thorazine is very sedating but rarely used now.

I can’t vote as I haven’t tried them all

I’m on seroquel xr, not nearly as sedating as the ir

I’ve been on 3 and on Thorazine (Chlorpromazine) all I wanted to do was sleep. I nearly got bed sores.

Definitely Geodon (ziprasodone). And I’m going to start taking it at 8 pm at night with peanut butter and raisins and see if that doesn’t knock me out by 11 pm. My morning dose always seems to put me to sleep after a sleep less night.
