More social on Abilify

I’m noticing that I’m becoming more social as well as being more motivated even on such a small dose of Abilify.

It’s really helping my depression and negative symptoms.

I just hope it lasts.

No I’m not manic

I was on risperidone and switched to abilify, immediately all my negative symptoms were gone

This is good news @swordiebrom!
I’m currently on 4mg Risperdal and 2mg of Abilify but honestly I don’t think that my doctor plans on switching me over completely to Abilify exclusively.

Risperdal keeps me sane and I don’t think that I can handle more than 2mg of Abilify
I still find it to be a very stimulating drug.

I think that I’ll keep things as they are

I find it a bit easier to socialize on abilify too

But my depression has been awful

I was put on 5mg of Abilify three years ago. I got up in the middle of the night and paced the hall for half an hour to an hour the two nights I was on it. I wish I knew what 2mg was like.

Yeah it might be better for you but even 2mg is still very stimulating

Decades ago I was on 20mg to 27mg and that was pretty unbearable

2mg was just stimulating me with no help with positive symptoms

once my doctor raised it to 5mg then to 7mg

at 7mg it helps with negatives but starts to also help my positives

I have heard Abilify can kind of work as antidepressant and help with negatives at lower dosages and then around 10mg or higher or something it just starts to work totally on positives and loses its effect on stimulation and negatives.

Yeah, but I wonder if 2mg would be enough. I’d love to be more social. 10mg or so is the maintenance dose I read. I didn’t talk to a doctor about it though.

No 2mg of Abilify wouldn’t be enough for psychosis control

Full Antipsychotic effect starts at 10mg

Before stopping meds for 2yrs I was stable on 10mg Abilify. After 3 years on it I reduced my dose to 0mg with the help of my dr. I started getting positive symptoms below 10mg. It got worse once I was below 5mg.

Yeah I’m using 2mg of Abilify as an antidepressant and mood stabilizer

I’m also on 4mg of Risperdal for psychosis control @Aziz

I want to try 2mg Abilify again but I am afraid it will make me hypersexual kinda like mania but my Dr said its side effect of Abilify and I have sz not mania. I asked if a mood stabilizer helps he said no.

Perhaps you can ask for 50mg depot of abilify? That way you get less weight gain compared to 2mg abilify

I feel better on abilify too. Idk if im more social cause i really have no outside connections but ive been more motivated to make stuff on the computer. My motivation was very low so it’s an improvement
