The results are meaningless to me but the write up stated my profile was valid and among psychiatric patients diagnosis of schizophrenia or paranoid disorder are most frequent and past hospitalizations are common. Not sure how they unjumble all of those numbers to come up with that.
I had a full neuropsych five hour workup at age 23 with one cigarette break which put me for the record age wise six months behind my age group, and with an attention deficit disorder. This included an IQ test which compared to my childhood results which got me clear into a private acedamy had significantly devolved.
But no, I’ve never had to take an MMP12…what country are you from? I was recently asked and given two minutes to sign a four page “treatment plan” with too many innacuracies and untrue statements/too much information in the alotted time that I refused to sign it. New to the community mental health center thing.
I am in the US. I had a full day of neurological testing too but I don’t know if there was a name for it. It seemed like an iq test. Lots of math and English and there were trivia questions. I have read that the MMPI is the most widely used personality test in the world. Some employers use it to screen job applicants. It has over 500 questions.
I scored too high on the F scale for them to be willing to interpret my results. (I was 22). It’s actually a very useful instrument for weeding out mentally ill job applicants from high security positions, like say working certain jobs in nuclear power plants. There are actually very few questions that key towards schizophrenia:
“I am being followed.”
“I have enjoyed hurting someone I love.”
“I have enjoyed being hurt by someone I love.”
The last two for inappropriate affect, I presume. Maybe two, three, or four more. . . . . AND IT TURNS OUT I’M FULL OF CRAP. I just checked and there are 78 items that key towards schizophrenia.
This is true though. The test is interpreted by a human being who will look at a graph that shows your scores across different . . . .psychopathologies, essentially. Then, depending on the combination, they sometimes look at your responses to certain specific items to come up with an interpretation. It really isn’t horseshit.
Have never done an official one but there was a site(since take down) that allowed you to score yourself . I am sure @mortimermouse posted a thread a few years back.
I guess it flags up anxiety/depression/introversion/paranoia/ some psychotic traits/ lack of drive and motivation amongst other things and that i’m not an easy person to treat…
I took one while involuntarily admitted to a psych ward. Was told that I was faking my illness according to the results, but still wasn’t allowed to have my clothes back and go home. Psychiatrists apparently don’t trust the opinions of psychologists (sorry @mortimermouse).
Found another site that lets you do it for a small fee. Slightly different than previously mentioned in that previously 3 highest were depression, paranoia and psychathenia/social introversion
and now shows as depression, psychathenia and schizophrenia . The latest result is often seen as a schizotypal profile .
Basically for the top 5 main scales in no particular order it’s depression, paranoia.psychathenia(anxiety), schizophrenia and social introversion which fits me well
